I hope you all had a good week!! Our week was filled with some highs and lows which is par for the course right now, I suppose. I feel like I’m constantly trying to catch up on work and the little things because life keeps getting in the way. But as a mom I feel like part of the job is to be flexible and to be able to pivot (like Ross says in that couch episode of Friends, lol).
Let’s move right along and get to my favorites for the week!
My new monthly post series just came out and it’s called “Let’s Look!” This months topic was our coffee area. You can see the post HERE.
Here are the topics that I will be posting on each month. They will give you a peek into the little things in our lives.
Speaking of coffee, I used to put my powder collagen into one of my cups of coffee but now I’m using Liquid Biocell Collagen by Modere and it’s supposed to work better in liquid form. Side note: it tastes pretty good and you take a 1 tbsp a day. The bottle gives you enough doses for a months supply.
I’m loving my new protein shakes, last week I gave you the recipe for a Strawberry Banana Shake and here’s the recipe for a Blueberry Shake that’s a current FAVORITE of mine!
Blueberry Shake recipe:
- 1 serving Protein Powder (I like the Orgain Organic Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Powder)
- 2 tbsp Almond Butter
- 1 cup Baby Spinach
- 1 cup Blueberries
- 1 cup Water (add more if needed)
Since I’m drinking a lot more smoothies these days, I wanted to purchase a metal straw that I can reuse and that is better for the environment. The pack comes with 4 straws and a cleaning brush and costs only $3.99!
On family night this week we watched, “Over The Moon” And we loved it!! Fun side note, Jason went to school with a friend and their Dad made this movie! It’s super cute and I highly recommend it!
Another night we watched “The Croods” and it was so good that we purchased the “The Croods: A New Age” the following night to enjoy together. If you haven’t already seen these two movies they are a must see with your kids.
I’ve been slowly tackling organizational projects at home in the spare minutes that I can find, lol One area was Tyler’s new kitchen. His fridge needed some baskets for him to sort his food and in his words, “I need some organizers for my kitchen, Mom!” It took a little time to find the right baskets with measurements that allowed for two baskets per shelf. Here’s what I found…If you are in need for something of similar use, you can find them HERE.
He’s a happy boy with his organized kitchen!
The next area I tackled was under the sink in our kitchen. It wasn’t a complete mess but it was too full and items needed a home so they could be grouped together and look nice.
It started off looking like this….not the worst but still needed some attention.
Then it went to this…
It’s always a good idea to wipe down the area you are organizing before you put everything back into place.
Then it looked like this…but it wasn’t good enough for me, lol
So, I ordered some containers from the Container Store and now here’s the final look…
In case you missed it, here’s my Home Tour: Family Room post!
Some FAVORITES for my boys this week, were playing at home with…
Are you following along with me doing the Simplicity Challenge? I’m on my instagram account and am doing the challenge through my insta-stories @momwithaplan_. It’s one task a day for the month of January to help declutter your life and your home. They are simple tasks that we all tend to put on the back burner. January is a good slow month to get these little things tackled and taken care of and it will help you start the New Year on the right foot.
That’s it for this week, I hope you have an enjoyable and slow 3-day weekend! Have fun with your family, tend to home tasks and do something for yourself that makes you HAPPY! š
XO
