Happy Friday, friends!! We’ve had the best time with our family in Florida and I can’t believe it’s already been 3 weeks. We return home this Sunday and it’s back to reality. Here are some FAVORITES from this past week.
In case you missed it, you can see last week’s Friday Favorites from Florida post Here.
We went to Lake Mary on Friday night to stay at Christian and Dana’s home. Their two oldest daughters, Katie & Lily are old enough to babysit so we enjoyed an adults only date night! We went to a tapas restaurant called, Santiago Bodega. It was amazing, we loved every tapa we ordered.
We fed the kids pizza and ice cream before we left.
After the kids went to bed the adults kept the party going!! We played a fun music game where we would pick categories like, “best song of all time”, “song that influenced your life”, or “song you love that isn’t well known”, etc. Each person would choose a song to play and we would then listen to it and at the end of the round we would vote on the winner. The rule was you can’t pick your own song. We all love music and discussing it so this was the perfect game for us. The game led to great conversations, silly moments, dancing and so many laughs. We played music from Elton John, Beatles, Pearl Jam, Queen, Nirvana, O.A.R, Billy Joel, etc. We had the best time together!!
The next day we went to Winter Park. It’s such a cute town, the streets were full of cute shops and yummy restaurants. We went out to lunch and then took a scenic one hour boat ride around the lake. I’m not going to lie it was VERY hot but we did go at the hottest part of the day, lol! It was nice hearing the history of Winter Park and facts about Florida.
We saw views of houses like this beauty…
We went down narrow canals that were so pretty…
After the boat ride, we needed to cool down so it was time for some Ice Cream and a nice cold beer!
After Winter Park we headed back to Merriott Island for the holiday weekend. We played more card games like progressive Rummy and enjoyed lots of swimming time.
One of the best things that has happened this week was Tyler learning how to swim!! For one reason or another I didn’t get him into swim lessons earlier in the Summer and to say this has caused me stress is an understatement. He is 4 1/2 years old and this Summer was supposed to be the time he accomplished learning how to swim. Tyler wouldn’t take his floaties off for us at home but Papi and Grandma got him to remove them. He has gained so much confidence working with all of us daily. He is now swimming to the wall, back and forth in the pool and lifting his head out of the water to breathe. He’s got more work to do but we are so proud of our little fish and what he has accomplished in just a few days….can I get some praise hands please!!!
Night swimming has been a FAVORITE!
We made cupcakes!
And we decorated the cupcakes…
The obsession of puzzles has continued, here’s what we all completed this week…
We enjoyed more delicious food prepared by Chef Papi!
Other Favorites of this week have been….
Sofia stayed the week with us while her parents and sisters were back at home in Lake Mary. Eleven people all sleeping under one roof gets a little tricky at times but no one keeps things more interesting then Sofia. She plays musical beds!
Have a great weekend!
