Mother/Son day in Newport Beach, CA
This past Saturday, I had some fun with Luke going to the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach for his cousin Jodey’s 9th Birthday!
These two have a close bond and it warms my heart because cousin relationships are so important! First, we enjoyed lunch by the pool.
Love the views of the boats and Newport Harbor!
After lunch we strolled around the harbor on a duffy boat while enjoying drinks, food and birthday donuts, Jodey’s favorite!
My cousin Whitney and I were like sisters growing up. We have a long list of childhood memories together. We may or may not have gotten into some trouble during our shenanigans from our younger days, lol It makes me so happy to see our sons building a lifetime friendship together.
Chillin’ on the boat together, enjoying the view while listening to an awesome playlist of music.
The boys each got to drive the boat, always an exciting thing to do.
Birthday Boy!
Our View
A FAVORITE of mine is getting one on one time with my boy.
This smile will never get old!
After our time on the water it was time for a dip in the jacuzzi, a FAVORITE for the boys!
While Luke and I were off having fun, Tyler and Jason had fun one-on-one time together too. They went to the best park ever in San Clemente.
Being Silly!
They had lunch at McDonald’s and then heated up our jacuzzi, put on some tunes and enjoyed their time together!
A FAVORITE is when my boys get fresh haircuts!
This quote is a FAVORITE and very much true!
Tyler’s Sick Day
Tyler had a random sick day this past week. This was not a favorite, but what was a FAVORITE was how he handled himself with throwing up. You mama’s out there know how hard it is when your littles throw up and there is no warning and it goes everywhere except where it should go. Well, Tyler let us know beforehand and he made it to the toilet and into a shallow bucket by his bed. When this happens, it’s HUGE and life changing, lol We’re so proud of him yet still sad he wasn’t feeling well. Thankfully, it only lasted a day and he had no other symptoms so he probably ate something that upset his tummy. At the time I wasn’t sure what he had so unfortunately I had to cancel Mother’s Day lunch plans with my mom.
This huge YODA pillow helps everything feel better!

Recipe for Spicy Shrimp Quinoa Bowl
Thanks for following along today, I hope you all had a great week! This weekend, Luke has his last games for the season with Basketball and Flag Football….I can’t believe the season is already over, make’s me sad. Other than that no big plans, just Family Fun Night on Friday. Ohh last week we watched “The Mitchell’s vs. The Machines”, highly recommend watching this movie with your kids. We all loved it and it just came out on Netflex. Saturday Luke has arranged for two of his friends to come over and play, it’s fun seeing him make his own social plans. On Sunday, we’re going out to dinner and still need to plan what we want to do during the day…. so we’ll have time for some spontaneous family fun š

Hi Julie, this was so fun to see you and your sweet boys enjoying life! My boys are really close with their cousins, too, and it so fun to watch. We just live really far away from family so they don’t get to see each other often. But thankfully, they stay connected through technology! And I totally hear you about the life changing moment when your kids finally figure out how to get their vomit into appropriate containers! Haha. I have some horror stories of puking events! That struggle is real. Thanks so much for linking with me!

Hi Shelbee, Thanks for having a link up party! Happy you enjoyed my most too and can relate to so many things. My husbands family lives in Florida so we know all about not being able to see cousins and loved ones often. We do make it a priority to get together a few times a year and yes technology definitely helps. I hear ya on the puking with kids struggle bus, when they figure it out it is life changing and I’m hoping Tyler’s new understanding sticks and is good the next time too. Hope you’re having a nice week!

What a fun celebration for birthday boy! Itās so cool that his cousin was there to celebrate as well. I hope your Tyler feels so much better. Itās rough to see little ones sick and total bummer you had to cancel plans with your mom. I havenāt been to Newport Beach in awhile. It makes me want to go on a boat right now!

What beautiful pictures! That looks like a fun boating trip. We have a Newport beach near us too (In Rhode Island) but I can guarantee we’re not wearing shorts, bathing suits, etc. at that beach for at least another month.

Thanks Joanne! Well, we aren’t exactly bathing suit season yet either, still in the low 60’s during the weekends right now. But I’m sure ready for it and I’m guessing you are too! Hope you are having a nice weekend!
