We had an awesome, fun-filled weekend with family and friends. The fun started on Friday when Jason’s parents, Kathy and Arturo, arrived from Florida in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day with us.
When Tyler got home from pre-school, we exchanged gifts for Valentine’s Day. I gave the boys a basket with a few small gifts from us wrapped in heart wrapping paper. Grandma and Papi also sprinkled the boys with gifts too.

Jason and I exchanged cards….we like to take occasions like this to write how we feel in the moment about our relationship. I also woke up to beautiful flowers on my bedside table. The boys gave a card and chocolates to Grandma and Papi.

My boys are so lucky to have grandparents who show their love by getting down to their level and playing with them. It warms my heart to watch!

I made a yummy white bean and turkey chili with cornbread and wine for dinner! We had a relaxing evening together.
Saturday was Tyler’s 4th Birthday! We opened birthday presents in the morning and loved on our sweet 4 year old!
Lots of new things for his kitchen per his request He wanted something to organize his kitchen and I found the perfect cart for the job
We went to Dana Point Harbor to walk around and had lunch at El Torito.

It was a gorgeous day out and it was nice strolling along the water, visiting together and watching the sea lions. The views were not too shabby.

When we got home it was time to bake some of Grandma’s yummy chocolate chip cookies. Chef Tyler took the lead in baking…
Saturday afternoon, my parents stopped by to visit for some cocktails and of course to see the Birthday Boy!
The Grandparents
For dinner, we bbq’d cheeseburgers per Tyler’s request and had a fun night playing with all his new toys. We sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed cupcakes.
On Sunday we got ready for the family birthday party…picked up the ice cream cake, got air into the balloons and put up the truck themed party decorations.

The Birthday Boy was ready to party!
Our close friends Megan, Cole and their son Hendrix came over a little early to hang out before the rest of the family arrived.
The boys! My best friend, Megan!
My parents came over as did my brother Forrest Jr, his wife Colleen and their 3 sons, Liam, Burke, and Pierce. We had tons of laughs and good times over yummy apps and cocktails.

We played a game, pin the scoop on the truck, while being blind-folded.
The oldest Liam won and got a prize of a legoset!
We catered in the meal from Tutto Fresco, an Italian restaurant nearby, and it did not disappoint.
We sang Happy Birthday to Tyler and enjoyed some chocolate chip ice cream cake. Our family has a lot of birthdays in February, so we were also celebrating my mom, my brother, and my nephew Burkes’s birthdays too.
Hendrix is SO cute!
The night ended with my in-laws having to leave for their red-eye flight back to Florida (always SO sad when they leave) and the boys putting on an entertaining show singing “Baby Shark”!
I’m happiest when I’m hanging out with my family! I love that Kathy and Arturo flew in for the weekend to be with us. Weekends like this are when I feel very blessed to be with the ones I love the most! I hope everyone had a fun Valentine’s Day weekend with loved ones.
