Happy December, friends! It’s the beginning of the month so I thought it would be fun to show you how we are decorating for Christmas this year!
Everyone has their favorite holiday and by far Christmas has always been my favorite! It is a magical time of year and one that has been brought back to its full glory since having children of my own.
As far as decorating goes, Christmas is my jam and is by far the holiday I have the most decorations for. You may think, “Wow, she’s gone a little overboard in how many decorations she has”, but in all honesty, I did not purchase all of these decorations. I inherited many of them from my late Grammy & Grandma Marge, who also had a huge love for Christmas and decorating.
Let’s start with the living room
The fireplace with our stockings
This Santa was my Grammy’s and I love it and think it’s a sweet representation of how we go to visit Santa. I like to decorate with personal touches. Each year, I frame the boys Santa visit picture.I love this old fashion Santa. It plays the song Jingle Bells. Our Coffee table is decorated with all of our Christmas books, past Santa pictures with the boys and nutcrackers that belonged to my Grandma Marge.Luke’s 1st Christmas! Visiting Santa each year is a tradition and I love the experience that South Coast Plaza Mall has at Christmas time.
Next, let’s move onto the Dinning Room
Each year, I end up doing the dining room table a little differently. The Santa in the center and the Xmas bear in the picture below were my Grammy’s and she did a lot of shopping at holiday stores in Pasadena. The flowers, vases, and table runner are from Pottery Barn and the little balls are from Pier 1.
Onto our Entry Way
This is my favorite Scandinavian Christmas tree that was my Grandma Marges. It is so special to me and my Aunt and my Mom have one too. This tree is very sentimental to me and displays ornaments from all over the world. Our Advent Calendar from Pottery Barn! The Santa marker was made by my Grandma, It always amazes me how much DIY they made of things back in the day. This wreath is 30 years old and I had it growing up. This was Jason and my First Christmas Tree we had when we lived in apartments!
Let’s move onto the Family Room
The Christmas Tree! The flowers were from Pottery Barn, and the trees and the Santa were from Micheal’s. The nutcrackers were my Grandma Marge’s and the large toymaker was Grammy’s.My boys love this statue! These Santa’s were from my trip to Alaska, where I met my husband, Jason. The nativity scene I found on Zulily. I have these carolers sprinkled throughout our home and they were all from my Grammy. I think they look so festive and are nostalgic for Christmas from when I was a little girl. More Carolers and a fun Santa statue.I love all my holiday pillows and they are from Pottery Barn.
Let’s go take a look at the kitchen
Love this angel from ZulilyI mean, overload of cuteness! The cousins in matching pajamas with their Grandma and Papi!
We sure do love it when our Elf, Elfis comes to our house on Dec.1st! The sleigh is full of Xmas present tags that I loved receiving from my Aunt Cathy over the years. The pooping reindeer & sheep are pulling the sleigh, lol!
Each year we get the boys the chocolate advent calendars and Lego ones too where they build something each day (Elfis brings these on the first day he arrives.)
Okay, this silly looking holiday bird brings me so much joy that it gets a nice spot front and center on my desk. It was my Grammy’s and I LOVE it!I made this DIY Christmas Cardholder and I have 2 of them. Keep your eye out for my DIY post coming soon on how to make these. I have one on our kitchen pantry door and the other on the entry hallway coat closet. Nothing makes me happier than admiring all the Christmas cards from family & friends!!We have this homemade nativity that Luke made in preschool and it is just precious!Lastly, our bathroom. I always purchase bath and body shop foam soaps for every season, they smell so good and look festive. Holiday paper napkins are a must to make your guests feel special.
A new addition this year was getting our boys Christmas trees for their rooms because in 2020 you need all the extra cheer you can get!
Tyler’s Christmas Tree! They are from Micheal’s. Luke’s Christmas Tree!
That’s a wrap on our Christmas decor! I add to it and change it up a little differently year to year. We always listen to Christmas music as we decorate and the boys love helping me put everything out. What is your favorite Christmas decoration? I would also love to hear where you go to purchase holiday decor?
