Mom with a Plan

Friday Favorites!
September 18, 2020

Hey, Hey it’s Friday, woohoo!! We are ready for the weekend!

It’s been a full week as we stepped back into reality after returning from Florida. We had a fantastic time with our Florida family and miss them already SO much! It’s hard not to live near all of your family. I grew up with both sides of my family living in California and now I realize how good we had it. Such is life but at least we make seeing each other a priority and I’m feeling thankful for the memories we made.

I have a few favorites from the end of our Florida trip but first Tyler started back at Preschool…all the praise hands please!!

Understandably, he was so nervous to be returning back to school….he only started school 6 months before the shutdown happened.
Tyler has been interested in being a Chef consistently for a while now…wondering if his passion for food is going to stick?? I think it would be amazing to have a Pro Chef in the family!
We went to the grocery store in the morning before Preschool and he found a school bus that he just had to have to represent his first day of school, lol.
My proud Bubba!! 🙂
Back with Mrs. Annemarie and it feels so good!!
A bittersweet moment for sure…when they go back to school it tugs on the mama heartstrings and then you realize you have more time to work and get things done…it’s a happy and sad moment for sure.

Alright….rewind a little bit back to Florida. We still had two days left there from when I last posted and I couldn’t leave out my last few favorites from our trip.

The Saturday before we left, Papi made us a Spanish dish Paella! Naturally, Tyler wanted to cook with him so Papi set up a bbq station for the mini chef.
We don’t get to enjoy this delicious dish often and it was greatly appreciated that it was prepared for us to enjoy as our last supper in Florida.
Grandma Kathy makes the best chocolate chip cookies and they are my love language! Warm out of the oven alongside a glass of milk, yes, please!! She made us a fresh batch when we arrived and another batch before we left because you can’t leave their house without a bag full of cookies to enjoy on the travels home. Thank you, Grandma, we are still enjoying them!
Last cousin swim session!
I mean, come on so adorable!! Luke is such an amazing big brother to Tyler, he does little things to make him happy! Definitely took a mental picture as well.
Charlie was very concerned about them jumping in….what a good doggy!
They were taking turns swimming the length of the pool and having it timed to see who did it the fastest. Tyler did awesome even with his floaties on.
It started raining as it usually does in Florida in the afternoon. Luke and Sofia so sweetly sitting out looking onto the water having I’m guessing a very interesting conversation, lol

Of course we got in a couple more puzzles before we left…

You can find the puzzle HERE.

And that’s a wrap on Florida….Thank you for the wonderful memories and to my in-laws for hosting us and putting up with our loud crazy family!

More favorites from this week included…

Seeing a big smile on Tyler’s face each morning before going into school…it makes me so happy!

We are in the process of getting Luke’s bedroom ready for his new desk. This means he will be moving out of our bedroom, YES!! Ha Ha he is one messy dude at times so I’m happy that he will now have a nice quiet place to do his studies and homework.

I will be doing a post soon on everything we did and purchased for his desk area. I gotta say I’m one of those people that loves setting up a desk and getting school supplies and finding all the perfect desk accessories, it makes me SO happy!! Anyone else feel this way?? haha.

We moved his bed to be under his window to make room for the desk on the opposite wall.
I got the perfect affordable metal grid to hang up on his wall under the wooden Luke letters. It has a hanging shelf and basket that you can connect to it. Instead of using a traditional cork board, he can hang things using clips. Luke wanted a more modern look, haha. I also found an affordable, cute yet modern desk and lucky Jason gets to put it together next week when it arrives. Stay tuned for the post on Home Tour: Luke’s Bedroom!

Last few favorites of the week are…

Luke finishing his first puzzle since being back from Florida. He was so proud as are we of him, it’s a great activity for the slow afternoons and keeps him off the screen. You can find it HERE.
A favorite was seeing this cutie get his teeth cleaned! He was such a good boy during his cleaning!
A favorite of mine this week was having a few uninterrupted hours to work while my boys were in school!! It’s been 6 months since this happened so I needed to celebrate the happy moment 🙂
Ohh Ty Ty you melt my heart. Before going on some errands he always remembers to bring his sunglasses and on this day he wanted to pay for everything. In the stores he would give his credit card or cash to pay and it was so sweet that the cashiers at Costco and Ralphs would play along with him.
