Meatball Mozzarella Bake
Simple, yummy, kid-friendly, and an easy weeknight meal!
Ingredients
Meatball Casserole
- 1 lb bag of fully cooked frozen Italian-style meatballs (pork, turkey, or chicken)
- 1 lb penne pasta (use whole wheat if you can)
- 2 (8) oz cans of tomato sauce
- 14 oz can of diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozarella cheese
- salt (add in salt to tomato mixture)
To Garnish
- Parmasan cheese grated
- parsley chopped
Instructions
Casserole
-
Preheat oven to 400°
-
Gather all your ingredients: meatballs, pasta, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley.
-
Get out a baking dish (9×13) and spray it with cooking spray. Add all of the frozen meatballs to the baking dish. Spread them out evenly.
-
Get out a large pot and bring water to a boil. Cook your pasta until al dente about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta when it's finished.
-
In a mixing bowl, mix the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. I think the recipe needed more salt so I would sprinkle in some salt too.
-
Next, pour the tomato mixture over the hot cooked pasta. Toss together to combine all the ingredients.
-
Time to assemble the casserole, Pour pasta with sauce over the meatballs in the baking dish.
-
Sprinkle mozarella cheese over the entire casserole.
-
Pop it in the oven and bake for 20 minutes until nice and bubbly.
-
Serve with chopped parsley on top and Enjoy!
