Ingredients

Meatball Casserole

  • 1 lb bag of fully cooked frozen Italian-style meatballs (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 lb penne pasta (use whole wheat if you can)
  • 2 (8) oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 14 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded mozarella cheese
  • salt (add in salt to tomato mixture)

To Garnish

  • Parmasan cheese grated
  • parsley chopped

Instructions

Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 400°

  2. Gather all your ingredients: meatballs, pasta, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley.

  3. Get out a baking dish (9×13) and spray it with cooking spray. Add all of the frozen meatballs to the baking dish. Spread them out evenly.

  4. Get out a large pot and bring water to a boil. Cook your pasta until al dente about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta when it's finished.

  5. In a mixing bowl, mix the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. I think the recipe needed more salt so I would sprinkle in some salt too.

  6. Next, pour the tomato mixture over the hot cooked pasta. Toss together to combine all the ingredients.

  7. Time to assemble the casserole, Pour pasta with sauce over the meatballs in the baking dish.

  8. Sprinkle mozarella cheese over the entire casserole.

  9. Pop it in the oven and bake for 20 minutes until nice and bubbly.

  10. Serve with chopped parsley on top and Enjoy!
