Mom with a Plan

Life Update…

Hi Friends, it’s been a minute since I’ve been blogging and boy have I missed being in my creative space with all of you!! I was originally planning on posting less in the Summer months because it has proven to be a challenge. It was not my intention to come to a complete stop but life got a little crazy for us. Although we’ve had a few family celebrations and fun times, we’ve also endured a lot of stress and illness over the past month.

I want to be completely transparent with you about what has been going on but it doesn’t just involve my family, it involves others and I have to take into consideration their privacy. For a long time, we didn’t know anyone who had COVID-19. This pandemic seemed so distant to me because it had not directly affected me. By now you have all seen the number of cases rise and it’s hard to not know someone who had COVID-19 at this point. What I can say is that we have had friends and family get the Coronavirus. There were some scary times but thankfully everyone has made it through and has gotten over it.

My family’s experience has been a stressful one, to say the least. At this point, I can’t say for sure if we had COVID-19 and I’m not sure we will get the answers we so badly want. I’m not going to say how/who we think we got COVID-19 from but we were around some people right before they showed COVID-19 symptoms who ended up testing positive for the virus. Three days later Jason and I started to feel symptoms and my boys showed signs of the virus 4 and 6 days after being exposed. Our health insurance provider steered us away from testing our boys and I didn’t go with my mommy-gut and test them anyway, I regret this decision. Jason tested two days after showing symptoms and I tested 4 days after. Our test results both came back negative, yet we still had symptoms. Then our boys took turns getting sick and were sick less than 2 days. They had symptoms of fevers, headaches, fatigue, and only Luke threw up and lost his sense of taste. Jason and I had different symptoms and they ranged from lots of fatigue, headaches that wouldn’t go away, diarrhea, stomachaches, random muscle pains in our arms & legs, and chest pains. Jason got an antibody test, but only 8 days after symptoms and we believe this was too soon and of course, his results came back negative. I know there is an issue with false-negative tests and its been uber frustrating because what else could we possibly have had, COVID-20, the new strain?!?! At this point, we are still waiting for answers. I have scheduled a call with a doctor to at least get Luke (not sure Tyler can handle it) and myself tested for the antibodies. I would like us to take it later next week. That’s a wrap on where we are currently in the Gimeno COVID-19 Mystery, lol.

I’m finally starting to feel like myself and I’ve missed blogging and connecting with you all so much. I do have a lot of behind-the-scenes business goals with my blog that I would like to accomplish this Summer but my goal is to still post a couple of times a week. I hope you all are getting through this tough season of life and I’m hoping you are also managing to still enjoy your Summer too! I’ll be back soon with other life updates on what we have been doing and celebrating to pass the time.
