On those days when you feel a cold coming on….do you have a go-to formula to help boost your immune system? My health coach and friend #hustleandbliss gave me the perfect easy at-home remedy to kick start your system to feeling better!
Here is the list of ingredients that you will need:
- Natural calm supplement: 2 tsp (I like the Raspberry-Lemon flavor)
**About Natural Calm:
- A relaxing magnesium supplement
- It helps you fall asleep
- Can help with digestion
- Strengthen your bones
- Lower your heart disease risk
- Improves enzyme function
- Help with anxiety
- Help people with fibromyalgia
- Help prevent migraines
- It is Vegan and Non-GMO
- Restores your healthy magnesium levels.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: 1/2 tsp
**About ACV:
- High in Acetic Acid with potent biological effects
- Can kill many types of harmful bacteria
- Lowers blood sugar levels and fights diabetes
- Helps you lose weight and reduces belly fat
- Lowers cholesterol and improves heart health
- May have protective effects against cancer
- Elderberry Syrup: 2 tsp
**About Elderberry’s:
- Contains antioxidants
- Can relieve colds
- Fight the flu
- Boost the immune system to help the body fight colds and other respiratory infections
- Vitamin A, potassium, vitamin C, folate, calcium & iron
**About Honey:
- Contains antioxidants & bioactive plant compounds
- The antioxidants in it can help lower blood pressure
- Improves cholesterol
- Lowers triglycerides
- The antioxidants in it are linked to other beneficial effects on heart health
- Can help suppress coughs
Directions to make:
- Fill up a mug with filtered water
- Heat in microwave for 1 1/2 mins
- , add in the calm- 2 tsp (wait until it evaporates in the water, it takes a minute and kinda foams, so you will need to stir)
- Add in the ACV- 1/2 tsp
- Then the elderberry syrup- 2 tsp
- Finally, the honey- a few drops (not too much otherwise the drink will be really sweet)
- Stir to combine all the ingredients
**Side Notes: It is a sweet drink due to the calm, elderberry and honey. The warmth of the drink feels great on your throat and is very soothing.
