How are we already at Thanksgiving break!! Let the holidays officially BEGIN!!
This past weekend, A FAVORITE for Jason and I was going to visit our friends in Ventura, CA! We enjoyed our adult time but sure missed our boys too.
On Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed some street tacos from a local place and then took a walk along the coast. I haven’t been to Ventura before and it was so beautiful how close the coast is to the mountains.
California offers so much beauty, I love my wonderful state!

On Saturday afternoon we watched some of the USC game vs. UofA (my alma mater) game, we lost in the last 30 seconds, big boo! We also watched the Gator game and they kicked some butt! Later that evening, we went downtown and out to dinner. We found the most delicious steak restaurant that was set up so nice outside with heaters. It was a 4-course meal and I totally forgot to take pics of the food because when it arrived it was as good as it looked.
On Sunday we drove 20 minutes up the road to a cute town called Ojai! We wanted to have brunch at the Ojai Valley Inn, which is gorgeous but someone rented out the entire resort for 3 days…bad timing for us.
We found a little diner that had outside seating and we enjoyed sitting in the shade. It was a lot hotter outside than I anticipated.
Life always seems like everything will be okay once you hang out with good friends and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
While we were in Ventura, our boys stayed back with their grandparents, who were also watching my brother’s boys for the weekend. It was a FAVORITE for all of them and they had a blast together!
A huge FAVORITE for me was when Beautycounter announced that their Black Friday discount came early, woohoo! Thank you to all of you that joined my Pop-up BC event this week on Facebook, it was a great time and I think we all learned a LOT about the current products we use and how to make some good choices in getting CLEAN products into our hands.
A FAVORITE for my boys and I was reading another new Thanksgiving book, “Thanksgiving In The Woods”, the illustrations are beautiful and we loved the story!
A FAVORITE for Tyler and I is to have coloring sessions together. It’s very easy to find free printables online to color.
Soups are a FAVORITE for me…did you catch my post this week on a round up of 12 soups that I love?!?! You can view the post HERE.
Another FAVORITE for me this week was this Trader Joe’s semi-homemade meal that I made, Chicken Chilaquiles Rojos! If you haven’t tried it, I definitely recommend adding it to your grocery list!
I think it’s very important to do whatever we can to give back to all of those who are hurting right now. This week I purchased some Thanksgiving food items for the food drive at Luke’s school. Doing what I can to help those in need is for sure a FAVORITE!
