Happy Friday, friends! How is everyone doing? Are you finding your new rhythm yet for the school year?
We decided to keep things interesting and move our family to Florida!!! J/k haha, but we did pack our bags and go to Florida for 3 weeks! Jason is working while here, Luke is in virtual school, I’m working on my blog, Kathy is teaching a few college in-person classes for students that have English as their second language. My niece Lily stayed with us during the week and is in virtual school for 6th grade. During the week we are all working hard and on the weekends we are playing hard together! We are so glad that we are taking advantage of these strange times TOGETHER!
We have had lots of FAVORITES from this week. Here’s a look at our work stations while we are here.
I’m working from the kitchen counter off of the family room.Papi and Grandma work from their desks.Jason made a work station from Paps and Grandma’s room so he can close off from the rest of the house and minimize the noise.Luke does his school work and his google chat meetings with his teacher and his “cohort B” classmates from Papi’s desk.Lily’s school area is in the guest room and we made it work as a desk area.
Tyler has lots of working/playing areas. He tells us when he has meetings during the day, lol!
Papi made our lil chef a kitchen area. Tyler said he needed shelves for his food and cooking pans and within a day Papi built him shelves. He was one happy chef!Tyler also has spent a lot of time with his new car rug while others work.Tyler is back at it making his traffic jams! Papi and Grandma got him so many cars, such a lucky boy!Having dance parties!
We indulge in lots of food and drinking while we are in Florida and you for sure need to find a balance. I’m thankful for their new treadmill that all of us use several times a week.
Lucky Jay gets to watch me run while he works but actually I look like I’m creeping on him, lol
Papi and Grandma have a time share at Ron Jon’s Resort close by and we have definitely taken advantage of this fun outside pool area to get out some during the week.
The resort has an awesome water slide that the kids LOVE!The lazy river is a FAVORITE! It has fun water obstacles along the river.But the best is being with our Florida cousins whom we have missed so much!My mother-in-law Kathy! One of my favorite people, we have the best time together!Happiness is being with this sweet loud Monkey!
Papi showed the boys how to fish and they had a great time learning the process.
A new favorite past time for the men of the family has been doing puzzles together, they are on their 3rd one already in 11 days!
We eat very well while we are here, Papi is a talented chef and Grandma makes the most delicious homemade pasta sauce and meatballs!
Papi is making swordfish and bacon wrapped scallop kabob’s that are AMAZING!
While Papi works the bbq, Tyler is his sidekick and is always near by doing his own cooking.
Papi made it so Tyler could bbq too outside!Tyler helping me whisk up some eggs!Sofia wanted to help with the cooking too!Papi made this inspired dish from Spain with mushrooms…it it S-OOOOO good people! He just whipped this up for us an app one night!
We enjoyed family fun night together while we are here!
These cousins are three peas in a pod when they are together!Ice cream, popcorn and candy!!!
We had game night together too! We played a family fAVORITE card game called Progressive Rummy! For the first time ever we had a tie between Christian and Kathy! Have I mentioned how good my MIL is at card games…she always kills it! I have to boast a little bit tho, I won the first 2 rounds so I was proud of that. It was also fun playing with Katie and Lily for the first time!
A family that plays together….definitely stays TOGETHER!I love my sweet and ohh SO smart nieces so much! It’s fun that they are starting to join in on the adult games!My sister-in-law Dana! There isn’t a person that I laugh more with then Dana, she is a “party” and we belly laugh together all-day-long, lol
A few last FAVORITES of the week….
Finding Lily on the hammock enjoying a beautiful Florida sunset!Watching these two bond this week was definitely a favorite!Papi was an electrical engineer and he came up with a project to show Luke. How to make a fan…it was fascinating and a learning experience.Tyler’s relationship with his Grandma is one strong bond! He adores her and is enjoying every minute with his best friend. An afternoon nap in Grandma’s lap was for sure a FAVORITE for Ty Ty!
