Friday Favorites from Florida
September 11, 2020

Happy Friday, friends!! We’ve had the best time with our family in Florida and I can’t believe it’s already been 3 weeks. We return home this Sunday and it’s back to reality. Here are some FAVORITES from this past week.

In case you missed it, you can see last week’s Friday Favorites from Florida post Here.

We went to Lake Mary on Friday night to stay at Christian and Dana’s home. Their two oldest daughters, Katie & Lily are old enough to babysit so we enjoyed an adults only date night! We went to a tapas restaurant called, Santiago Bodega. It was amazing, we loved every tapa we ordered.

The Girls!
The Boys!
Love my SIL so much!

We fed the kids pizza and ice cream before we left.

ICE CREAM!!

After the kids went to bed the adults kept the party going!! We played a fun music game where we would pick categories like, “best song of all time”, “song that influenced your life”, or “song you love that isn’t well known”, etc. Each person would choose a song to play and we would then listen to it and at the end of the round we would vote on the winner. The rule was you can’t pick your own song. We all love music and discussing it so this was the perfect game for us. The game led to great conversations, silly moments, dancing and so many laughs. We played music from Elton John, Beatles, Pearl Jam, Queen, Nirvana, O.A.R, Billy Joel, etc. We had the best time together!!

This was the only picture I took of Kathy & Arturo dancing! 🙂 Aren’t they the cutest?
Date Nights are the best!

The next day we went to Winter Park. It’s such a cute town, the streets were full of cute shops and yummy restaurants. We went out to lunch and then took a scenic one hour boat ride around the lake. I’m not going to lie it was VERY hot but we did go at the hottest part of the day, lol! It was nice hearing the history of Winter Park and facts about Florida.

Waiting to get on the boat.
These three have the best time together!
If I had a sister I would like to think she would have been like Dana, lol!
The crew minus Lily not making it into the picture!
These two are the cutest!
Seriously, these two are the BEST!

We saw views of houses like this beauty…

We went down narrow canals that were so pretty…

What a Beauty!

After the boat ride, we needed to cool down so it was time for some Ice Cream and a nice cold beer!

Brothers!!

After Winter Park we headed back to Merriott Island for the holiday weekend. We played more card games like progressive Rummy and enjoyed lots of swimming time.

One of the best things that has happened this week was Tyler learning how to swim!! For one reason or another I didn’t get him into swim lessons earlier in the Summer and to say this has caused me stress is an understatement. He is 4 1/2 years old and this Summer was supposed to be the time he accomplished learning how to swim. Tyler wouldn’t take his floaties off for us at home but Papi and Grandma got him to remove them. He has gained so much confidence working with all of us daily. He is now swimming to the wall, back and forth in the pool and lifting his head out of the water to breathe. He’s got more work to do but we are so proud of our little fish and what he has accomplished in just a few days….can I get some praise hands please!!!

Night swimming has been a FAVORITE!

Papi changes the pool colors at night and its a party in the pool!

We made cupcakes!

And we decorated the cupcakes…

HAHA, I grabbed a picture of the almost teenager smiling, lol
I couldn’t decide if I want chocolate or vanilla frosting so why not have both?!?!

The obsession of puzzles has continued, here’s what we all completed this week…

Late night working on a puzzle together!

We enjoyed more delicious food prepared by Chef Papi!

Homemade Gazpacho Soup….SOOO Good!
The Spanish dish, Tortilla de Patatas….it’s delish!!
Perfection!!
For the last two weeks we have been munching on the Spanish Jamon Iberico de Bellota! Even Tyler loves eating it, I told him it’s the Spanish in him 🙂

Other Favorites of this week have been….

Cousin time!
Such a funny guy…he wanted his hair up in a hair tie…can you tell he’s been around girls a lot lately, lol!
This cutie conned his Dad into buying a bakery set. He was beyond excited!! He puts on food parties for us all the time! He did a birthday party for me this week and said I was 62, yikes!! He had everyone sing me Happy Birthday, lol!!

Sofia stayed the week with us while her parents and sisters were back at home in Lake Mary. Eleven people all sleeping under one roof gets a little tricky at times but no one keeps things more interesting then Sofia. She plays musical beds!

This night they decided they wanted to all sleep in Papi and Grandma’s room.
Hanging out on their dock at sunset is a FAVORITE too!

Have a great weekend!
