Mom with a Plan

Halloween Activities and
Crafts Rewind from 2019

Every holiday season, I like to make sure we have fun and festive activities planned.

Last year, we had a great Halloween so I thought it would be fun to take a look back at it. We started off the month with decorating a gingerbread Haunted House from Trader Joes, my boys love doing these and then picking at them to get the candy, lol

Every year I like to add to our book collection and I was so excited when I found this fun combo for the boys to enjoy. “Room on the Broom” and an activity book to go along with it, Score! It’s such a cute story and they were both enjoyed.

Last year was Tyler’s first year in preschool and his teacher did a great job at decorating the classroom door!

Every year we enjoy going to the Pumpkin Patch as a family. Sometimes with cousins and friends too but this past year it was just us and it was perfect. The pumpkin patch in our city was not opened last year due to remodeling so we ventured out and found this fun one in Laguna Hills called Pumpkin City. It had rides, games, pumpkins, bounce houses, trains, and food. Ps…I’m a Mama that loves to have my boys in matching clothes for the holidays, I know my days are numbered where I get to do this so I enjoy it while I still can! I found their shirts on Amazon HERE for a great deal! The shirts actually still fit both of them so they wore their matching shirts again this year for cute pumpkin pictures.

My parent’s clubhouse where they live puts on different events throughout the year. This past last year we went to a pumpkin carving/ Italian dinner night on Halloween Eve. We had no clean up after carving the pumpkins and that is always nice. My brother, Forrest and his family joined in on the fun too. It’s fun watching the cousins make memories together.

A lot of the time we stay in our neighborhood and enjoy Halloween with dinner and trick-or-treating with our neighbors but this year we went to my brother’s neighborhood. They had a pot-luck block party followed by trick-or-treating and we all had a blast. I brought a chicken, bacon, ranch casserole that was adult & kid-friendly, you can find the recipe HERE and I doubled it so my family could enjoy it at a later time. My boys LOVE anything with bacon.

We had the Spider-man costume for Tyler from when Luke was little so we decided to be The Avengers!! Luke was Black Panther, Tyler was Spider-Man, I was Black Widow and Jason was Iron Man. Our family loves all the Marvel movies so the Avengers theme was perfect for us.

And that was a wrap on how we celebrated Halloween last year, it’s going to be hard to beat all the fun we had together and I still don’t know how Halloween is going to look this year.
